Powerful and Dependable Drive System
Hi-Fold Door uses name brand electric motors (1 hp to 2 hp depending on the door size) to power our bi-fold doors. The totally enclosed fan cooled motor has a worm-gear speed reducer. This, in turn, is connected to a torque-free, 2″ diameter drive shaft by a double jack-shaft and heavy-duty roller chain. An electric brake is installed on all doors. For easy maintenance, the motor and electrical systems are mounted 18″, or more, above the floor on the side of the door.
The motor and electrical systems meet the National Electrical Code, Section 513 specifications, pertaining to aircraft hangars.
Optional hydraulic lift system for our bi-fold doors increases door speed for reduced cycle times. With this powerful unit, the door travels 2-3 times faster than the standard gearbox driven door. The hydraulic lift unit is shipped completely assembled, tested and full of oil.
